Spotify X Snapchat : SnapListen
The Challenge: Spotify, a digital music streaming service, wants to find new ways to encourage Spotify users, new and current, to immerse themselves in the world of Audiobooks.
The Solution: Spotify will team up with Snapchat to promote their campaign, titled “SnapListen.” This campaign utilizes and revives Snapchat’s Snap Map feature, by creating an alternative map feature in the app. This map, however, won’t be used for finding or sharing locations, but instead will be used for finding, sharing, and connecting over Spotify Audiobooks. Your friends will be shown on this map in unison with Audiobooks they are listening to, displayed above their heads. Whether you find a friend’s audiobook interesting and want to save it to your profile, or simply want to engage with your friend over further audiobook conversation, Snapchat will allow you to decide what to do. The end goal and most prominent feature will be Snapchat enabling you to go directly to Spotify to listen to these new audiobooks.

Similar to how you can customize your outfit on the standard user profile on Snap Map, you will be able to customize your audiobook selections. This includes what book you want to display above your Bitmoji’s head or the audiobooks you have saved on your profile overall.

In-App Friend’s User Profile
Your friends’ profiles will display the audiobook they are listening to above their Bitmoji’s head. When you tap on their Bitmoji, you can choose to read the audiobook right away, which will redirect you to the Spotify app.
Alternatively, you can tap on 3 other options. You can :
1) Save this book, which will save the audiobook to your user profile.
2) Share a book, which will allow your friend to see the audiobook in THEIR user profile.
3) Get similar reads, which will take you directly to the Spotify app and let you browse through audiobooks of a similar genre.

The SnapListen Snap Map will keep the same camera and chat features that the standard Snap Map has. In this way, you will be able to chat with your friends directly if you want to dive deeper into audiobook conversation.
Snapchat will display a separate Audiobook map, the SnapListen Snap Map on their bottom, main navigation panel. This will be solely devoted to seeing and finding new Spotify Audiobooks and will be placed directly to the right of their normal Snap Map.
